lol, I certainly hope peers don't have to "keel" infront of the lord chancellor... nice catch :) ugen64 16:47, Sep 5, 2004 (UTC)

Nice photo; from which vantage point was it taken? It looks like the view from in front of the town hall, but my memory is fuzzy. —No-One Jones 18:39, 7 Sep 2004 (UTC)

The International Eisteddfod isn't "another" Eisteddfod. It's undoubtedly the most famous one. Do you have any valid reasons to doubt that? Or is this an example of mindless NPOVing? Varitek 08:26, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)

When I talk about "the Eisteddfod", I mean the Urdd Eisteddfod, not the National. However, Wikipedia is an international resource. In the context of the world, the National is all but unknown, whereas the International has a worldwide recognition as a premier folk arts gathering, drawing competitors and visitors from many, many countries. (No need to teach me to suck eggs, either. I've lived in Wales most of my life, and have competed in and attended several Eisteddfodau) Varitek 19:41, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Bildbeschreibung/Copyrightdaten

[edit]

Hallo,

revert

[edit]

The rollback command does not allow an explanation to be added in for a reversion. I explained to the new user on their page what the problem is. Putting in venerable, etc in the list box at the bottom of the page can cause technical problems, if the name then used is too long. The list is of popes, so should just name popes. Venerable etc can and is put in the body of the article. FearÉIREANN(talk) 03:08, 16 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Environmentalism

[edit]

Did you move a page called Environmentalism or such like to Environmental movement in the United States? Alan Liefting 22:05, 20 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Environmentalism was a page about the international Environmental movement but with a strong US bias. I have requested that it is to be moved back. A new page on the environmental movement in the US can then be created. The move hase also created a large list of redirected pages. Alan Liefting 23:31, 20 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I am of the opinion that both the Environmentalism page and the Environmental movement page are both worthy of being kept. Instead of moving the whole Environmentalism page to Environmental movement in the United States I would have liked to have seen a new page created for the US information. In that way all the page history and "What links here" does not need changing. Alan Liefting 04:12, 21 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

languages in india

[edit]

dear eraunch, Sorry for the delay. My entry in wikipedia on Indian languages is based on the following reports: Since it is a statement in Parliament, i hope it is true (unless there is difference of opinion on what a 'language' is ?) Statement: "There are 3,372 languages in India but only 216 are spoken by a group of 10,000 persons or more."

  1. The Minister's answer at Rajya-sabha, the upper house of the Parliament of India
  2. A news portal
  3. Last news-piece in The Telegraph

Just wanted you to know that images without sources can now be deleted on sight. So, if you have not provided sources for these, they will probably soon be gone. Good luck. JesseW, the juggling janitor 09:21, 21 September 2005 (UTC)

WikiProject Environment

[edit]

As a contributor to articles on the environment I would like to welcome you to participate in Wikipedia:WikiProject Environment. Alan Liefting 20:19, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Polyculture in the Brazilian drylands.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Pak21 11:09, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Indonesia home garden.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 12:37, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I've updated the copyright for the above mentioned image, please take a look and make sure it is appropriate. Thanks! --Jcgarcow 15:11, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Erauch! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 711 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Pierre Carniti - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Johann Baptist Metz - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Source for "Annual hours" table

[edit]

Back on 10 June 2005, you added an extremely helpful table to Working time, citing an unnamed compilation by Juliet B. Schor of "various sources". Unfortunately, this is not a useful citation, as it doesn't say where or when this compilation was published, and therefore cannot be verified. If you have this information, please add it to the article, or at least mention this in the discussion I created to address this problem, Talk:Working time/Archives/2012#Source for "Annual hours" table. Or let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your assistance. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 01:20, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Thank you for beginning quality articles such as Vauban, Freiburg, Reconciliation ecology, Huub Oosterhuis, Johann Baptist Metz and Vai people, for understanding of languages: "of course minority languages are not in common use", - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

Notice

The file File:Town Hall Square Rothenburg.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused, low-res, no obvious use. Better files at c:Category:Town hall of Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:13, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
