How can Jesus be the Messiah and therefore the anointed one according to Surah 3:45 indicating a special, superior place for him and also in the same verse be the "WORD of God" while Muslims claim that he was only a prophet? Furthermore, he was also born to a virgin Mary confirming the christian position. But if Jesus has no human father who else could be his creator/father other than God? Why do Muslims reject the christian term "son of God" for him? Also Jesus spoke in the cradle(Surah 19:27-33) and was able to create life by turning clay into a living bird(Surah 5:110). Hardly the work of a prophet only. There are multiple indications in the Quran that Jesus was much more than just that. 80.131.61.141 (talk) 16:29, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Definition

[edit]

can the simple definition be added near the beginning? Hebrew for anointed. Webster, Merriam, American Dictionary of the English Language, reprint of the 1828 edition, Copyright 1967 & 1995 by R.J. Slatter, Published by the Foundation for American Christian Education, Chesapeake, VA (Not really sure how to credit this unusual reprint situation. It is the dictionary I have at hand.)
